To Whom It May Concern,
The Department of Health shipped us over 200 COVID-19 tests last week to test all staff and any consenting residents. We had a 100% participation rate from both residents and staff.
We’re proud to say that all residents and staff tested NEGATIVE!
While this was the expected result since nobody is symptomatic, it’s a relief knowing that, with 100% certainty, our whole facility is COVID-19 free as of last Wednesday (when we took the swabs). This is encouraging since it’s been three months since the outset of the virus, which shows our policies and procedures are working.
Even though this is fantastic news, we know we are not out of the woods yet. We will continue being diligent with our policies and be hyper-sensitive to possible points of exposure. We’re analyzing data that’s being released every day and are molding our policies to fit the current situation.
Given we have extra tests on hand, we will likely test all residents and staff again at a later date. We continue to be extremely appreciative of the patience and understanding shown by our community and families.
We’re also very proud of our staff for being thoughtful and careful by protecting our residents and the level of respect they’ve shown for the situation at hand.
